Google has put its newest AI model into the Gemini app. It is called Gemini 4 Argon. Google shared the news on October 13.

Who gets it? People who pay for Google AI Pro or Ultra. Google's post ends with a short line: "Try these updates starting today."

What is different? Google says Argon "answers questions more directly with less hedging". Hedging means piling words like maybe and it depends onto an answer. Google also says it "skips clichés", the tired phrases that make so much AI writing sound the same.

The bigger change is tasks. The main chat window now has a simple switch from chat to tasks. Pick tasks, and Gemini can keep working for you "even when you’re not at your computer". Google says it can help across your Google apps and more.

Gemini can also connect to "more than 40 apps". Google names Instacart, OpenTable, Adobe and Shopify. So it could help you order groceries or book a table.

For longer jobs, Google says Argon shares its progress more often. That way you can see what it is doing while it works.

There is news for people who write code, too. Google's coding tool, called Antigravity, now sits inside the Gemini app for Mac.

Why does this matter? AI helpers are moving from answering questions to running errands for you. That can save time. It also means you should check what the helper did before you trust the result.

What this does not mean. It does not mean free users get Argon. Google says the update is for AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. It also does not mean Gemini works with every app; Google says more than 40.
