ChatGPT can now turn your pictures into short animated GIFs
OpenAI's new Images 2.6 makes pictures 50% faster and can animate a mascot or a product photo. It is out now on all ChatGPT plans.

OpenAI released Images 2.6 on November 4. It works in ChatGPT, in Codex and for app makers through OpenAI's developer tools.
The biggest change is motion. You can now make short animated GIFs, the looping pictures people share on social media. OpenAI's examples include animating a brand mascot or turning a product photo into an eye-catching loop. It says even a simple sketch can become an animated character.
OpenAI says Images 2.6 makes pictures 50% faster than before. It also says you can keep characters, products and brand details the same as you make changes. That matters if you need the same logo or product to look right in every picture.
The numbers show how popular this already is. OpenAI says people create 4 billion images a week across its products. That is more than half a billion a day.
For app makers, there are two versions. The faster one can make a picture in as little as six seconds at low quality. Developers can also mark the exact spot they want changed. They can save designs in a format ready for websites, apps and print.
Images 2.6 is available now worldwide in ChatGPT and Codex, on all plans, on computers, phones and the web.
For a small business, this could make it easier to add a moving logo or product picture to social media posts.
Open it and check the claim yourself. That is the point.
