ChatGPT can now answer with buttons, maps and small tools you can tap, not just text
OpenAI is bringing its new GPT-6 model and a feature it calls Intelligent UI to everyone who uses ChatGPT.

ChatGPT is getting a new brain and a new look. OpenAI says its new model, GPT-6, is coming to the more than 1.2 billion people who use ChatGPT each week.
The biggest change has a technical name: Intelligent UI. UI means user interface, the buttons and screens you use on a device. Until now, ChatGPT mostly answered with text. Now an answer can include pictures, charts, forms and buttons you can tap.
OpenAI gives simple examples. A recipe can come with a cooking timeline next to it. The stops on a road trip can show up on a map. You can also ask ChatGPT to build a small tool for you. It could be a bill splitter for dinner with friends, or a calculator that shows how savings could grow.
The format depends on the question. OpenAI says that when plain text is the most useful answer, ChatGPT will still give you that.
Answers should also start sooner. ChatGPT can now begin answering while it keeps thinking. For questions that need a web search, OpenAI says the fast version starts answering 44% sooner on average than the one before it.
Paying users started getting the update on Wednesday. Free users followed a day later. The change is for normal chats, not for OpenAI's work and coding tools.
OpenAI admits there is still work to do on the model's design choices. Its big idea is simple: "Instead of people adapting to software, software will adapt to people."
Open it and check the claim yourself. That is the point.
