Apple has opened its new Siri AI to every app maker. On November 3, Apple said any developer can now connect an app to Siri AI. It works in the test versions of iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3.

Apple calls Siri AI an entirely new version of Siri. It is meant to be more capable, more conversational and more personal. Thousands of app makers already let people use Siri for things like directions or sending a message.

The tool behind this is called App Intents. In plain terms, it lets an app tell Siri what it can do and what it holds. Then a person can ask in their own words, and Siri AI carries out the action. Apple's examples include checking a delivery, booking a reservation and placing an order.

For bigger requests, Apple is adding skills. A skill teaches Siri AI to combine several actions into one. Apple says this means more customers can discover and use apps just by asking.

There is a wait. This is an early preview for developers. Apple says it will first reach customers in a few months, and App Store submissions open in the spring. Apple will share the terms and usage rules later.

Siri AI needs an Apple Intelligence device set to a supported language. It is not available in the EU on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and it is not for users under 13.

For a business with its own app, this could become a new way for customers to reach it.

What this does not mean. It does not mean your app works with Siri AI today. This is an early developer preview, and Apple says it first ships to customers in a few months.
